What we believe:

The Mormon church has sure been in the spotlight a lot lately and this is great! People are starting to learn more about what we believe and more about who we are. In the same respect there is so much misinformation out there. Elder Ballard asked members of this church to use new media such as blogs to participate in these discussions. He said that people are going to talk about Mormons so we better make sure we are a part of those discussions! After reading this request from Elder Ballard, an apostle of God, I decided I could contribute by posting information on our family blog. Answers to many questions you might have or just some brief overviews of our faith can accurately be found at www.mormon.org. I have provided a link to this website in my favorite links section found at the top right of this blog. I urge any of my friends who want to know more about me and my family to take a minute and learn more about this church that has been causing such a raucous in the media as of late. It is my sincerest desire that everyone and anyone can know truthfully what members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints believe. I feel so fortunate for the attention the media has brought to our church because it has provided an opportunity for all of us to know and understand each other a little better. I sure think we could all use a little more of that to go around!

In addition to these thoughts I want to share with the whole world my testimony. I am so fortunate to have been taught by goodly parents about the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is the light and the life of the world. He is the only means to salvation and joy. Through him ALL things are possible and ALL things CAN be overcome. I know that Heavenly Father is a living God who loves and cares for me and you very deeply. I know that he is literally my Father. I am so grateful to know that I am a child of God because it gives me such great worth. I know we are all of great worth. I know that Joseph Smith, a young boy of only 14 saw God the Father and his Son. Through great sacrifice and diligence on his behalf he translated and brought forth a valuable companion to the Bible called the Book of Mormon. I am so grateful for these two pieces of scripture that fill my life daily with the teachings of Jesus Christ and God the Father. Without them I am lost. My testimony may seem like a small declaration of simple things but it is the foundation of my life and the center of our home. Christ is the center of our home. I feel so fortunate to have this peace and knowledge in my life and I testify of these things to you in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
