Maddie has a male teacher and unbelievably he lives across the street! He could not be a more perfect teacher for our Maddie especially when we watched him drive around the neighborhood in boots, a cut off t-shirt and on his Harley! Maddie thinks he is so cool.
Michael so badly wants to go to school with them. Poor kid!

Leaving our English class students was one of the worst things about leaving College Station. These are truly remarkable people whom I love and cherish. I will miss them!! They threw us a great going away party with the best enchiladas I have ever tasted! Here are just a couple of pictures from the party.
Well it looks like we are finally going to graduate from the student life to the post doc life. Not much difference for those who are unfamiliar! However Jared will officially be Dr. Jared Trefethen and we are excited! Looks like we will be headed to Kansas. Jared has accepted a position in a lab at KU in Lawrence. We just went to visit a few weeks ago and I think it will be a great little pit stop for the next one to two years. Who would've guessed Kansas???
When Michael was little he was a miracle baby so as a family we work with Children's Miracle Network to raise funds for local hospital equipment. This particular event was more fun then work! Naomi and Michael entered a cookie eating contest. Naomi won her age bracket! She was the star of the evening news that night and proclaimed her star power for over a week! She won free cookies everyday for a year from the local bakery, just what we need!
He came in second but only because a lady cheated by shoving an entire cookie in her 1 year old son's mouth in the last second!
The Zoo is so fun at this age! We went to the Santa Barbara Zoo. This is Michael pre summer haircut. Jared loves the buzz but I miss his long hair!
